I'm going to Kunming to study this fall; but prior to that I'm landing in Shanghai, and plan on traveling for a few weeks before getting to Kunming. If not, the main post office in the big old building off of the Pu river, has some English speakers. The rates are just a little more than the private carriers. The have all the shipping things there (boxes, tape,etc..). Plus keep in mind that they must inspect the contents item by item so, don't tape the box before they look.
