atitarev Posted March 30, 2009 at 10:50 PM Report Share Posted March 30, 2009 at 10:50 PM Is 日喀则 (日喀則) pronounced Rìkèzé or Rìkāzé (a city in Tibet, China)? I've seen both. Are both possible or only one? The ABC dictionary only gives one reading of 喀 - kā. There are a few ways to write it in English: Shigatse, Xigazê, Rikaze, Zhigatsey. atitarev Posted March 31, 2009 at 12:10 AM Author Report Share Posted March 31, 2009 at 12:10 AM Thanks. Also, Chinese Pera-kun gives Rìkèzé. I'll stick to Rìkāzé, it's closer to all other languages and matches standard pronunciation of 喀.
