But nobody ever says it like that, everybody goes with Cheng2 Ji4, and they'll think you're too nerdy if you go with cheng2 ji1. I think some people don't even know about the cheng2 ji1 option. I do have heard that as well. Some Chinese can't tell that themselves. But we sometimes pronon cheng2ji0 我的语文成绩惨不忍睹 wo3 de0 cheng2 ji0 can3 bu2 ren3 du3 for example.
