... anything but temptation

"I can resist anything but temptation" is a well-known quote by Oscar Wilde.

I could probably come up with a version of this in Chinese with the help of the dictionary, eg. I find 诱惑 for "temptation". But I am uncertain exactly how to put it to best convey the original meaning, and whether it works at all in Chinese.

How would you translate it? Does it "work", ie. does the meaning come across in Chinese?

Stage one, find out what Oscar Wilde is called in Chinese. We can assume The Importance of Being Earnest will have '重要性' in the title, so Google 'Wilde 重要性‘. This gives us this page and flicking down we find 王尔德。 So now we search '王尔德 temptation' and we find . . .

我能抗拒一切,除了诱惑.

我什么都能抗拒,诱惑除外。

.我什么都能抵挡,除了诱惑。

我可以抗拒一切,诱惑除外。

A cool trick for doing this is to find Oscar Wilde on wikipedia, and then click on the link to the Chinese version on the left.

That's what I do with people, names, places, and similar. It's a good dictionary substitute for some more complex concepts too.

Google works too, but wiki is easier :)
