Stealtharcadia Posted September 29, 2009 at 11:23 PM Report Share Posted September 29, 2009 at 11:23 PM Hello, I'm new here and I'm also very new to the Chinese language (2 months, to be exact!). However, I had come here with a specific goal in mind. When I was in junior high, I had a couple of friends where native Spanish speakers and conversed in Spanish often. I was taking a couple really simple Spanish classes at the time, but I could use it in an everyday situation with my friends and I learned the language very quickly at a basic level. However, studying Chinese on a college campus hasn't brought up the same opportunity to practice the language with another person. Therefore, I was wondering how useful it would be for me to start posting in threads on this forum in places like "The Chinese Corner" and attempt to keep up conversations as well as I can. Does this sound like a good idea?
imron Posted September 30, 2009 at 01:05 AM Report Share Posted September 30, 2009 at 01:05 AM You might find that a site like www.lang-8.com is better suited for that purpose.

renzhe Posted September 30, 2009 at 10:44 AM Report Share Posted September 30, 2009 at 10:44 AM A language partner is probably the best thing you can do. It can't be hard to find a Chinese person willing to practice Chinese in exchange for practicing English. Especially on a college campus.
