jacki Posted April 24, 2010 at 06:22 PM Report Share Posted April 24, 2010 at 06:22 PM I'm in the process of reviewing for my midterms, and I've found that prepositions are giving me a headache. I understand them when I see them being used in sentences, but when I have to plop a preposition down in a blank it gets a little difficult. I think all my answers here are correct, but could someone double check for me? And there are a couple I have further questions on that I will explain when I get to them My options for filling in these blanks are: 对,从,凭,自,给,向,趁,由,与 1。 (Were I writing this sentence, I would've just written ‘那个工作不太适合你’, but eh. I almost answered ‘与’ for this, but that didn't seem right, but 对 still feels weird to me for some reason.) 3。 (This was a complete guess, does 发自 mean 'sent from' like 来自 means 'come from'?) 5。 (My textbook, which this exercise is in, gives me six meaning for 由 ⋯⋯ 承担谋事,事物的形成,说明原因,凭借/根据,方式,and 起点,and to me this doesn't seem like any of those. Can 从 also be used here?) 11。 (I know it's not one of my options, but can 跟 also be used here as well?) 12。 Thanks for the help!! Xjian0104 Posted April 25, 2010 at 02:30 AM Report Share Posted April 25, 2010 at 02:30 AM 2. I think you can use "对" as " to" " for" 4. “发自内心” is an idomedic expression and 发 is related to opinion, message, order. 10. I feel 从 is always contains a meaning of emphasize what is not need here 11. That's ok. 跟 is used more frequently in oral language
rivercao Posted April 25, 2010 at 05:36 AM Report Share Posted April 25, 2010 at 05:36 AM 5。 This is a bit weird but still it's OK. The best way to say it can be: But there is no option on the preposition "以".
