"Cross the street" and other phrases

website

Recommended Posts

My GF came back, but she went to bed in a bad mood so I can't ask her what the following phrases are in Hanyu:

no wonder

ran into a car/my friend

make up your mind

last piece of candy

When will they move in?

stop in for a chat

Will you be my friend?

none of your business

If I ever see him again, I will ask.

How about this shirt? (Zenmeyang zhege chenyi???)

hang up the phone (Ting yong dianhua???)

drive in reverse

take advantage of him

cross the street

turn the light on (Kai diandeng??)

rude people turn me off

What is this book about?

Have a nice day. (You haode tian???)

show me

make a toast

keep away

keep people at a distance

Thanks for any help. I couldn't find these translated

anywhere.

Beijing people usaually use 怪不得 mostly especially when they find the reason or background of some action. e.g

怪不得他一定要跟著我們, 原來他根本不知道怎麼去.

這也難怪, 他從小没和家人在一起... if you use 怪不得 here, though it's still ok, but not that smooth.

I asked my teacher about 衬衣 chen4yi1 a couple weeks ago and she told me it was a woman's undershirt, like a camisol, I guess. Regional differences, I guess. Here, a shirt is often referred to as yi jian yifu, which is very confusing. I'm trying to talk about my clothing, and my friend thinks I'm talking about my shirt.
