Not everything/not every one

Everything is 什么都. If you make it a negation as in: 你什么都明白!it means nothing, right? But if you want to say: "not everything" or "not everyone", what then? My book just gives me two examples and I just don't get the meaning of them:

The sentence is translated (roughly): "It is not so, that we don't have anything." (in actual speech: We have something???) But I don't get this, dosn't it say like: "It is not so that we don't have nothing", which would mean that they actually possessed something?

Translated: "It's not everybody that likes him." The only thing I don't grasp here is the use of 哪个人 Shouldn't that mean "those people".

The sentence structure isn't always explained that thoroughly in the book.. I could use some help..

"not everything" = 不是甚麼都(也)/不是所有東西都(也)

你甚麼都明白 = You understand everything

You don't understand anything / You understand nothing

You don't understand everything (there is something that you don't understand)

It is not that you don't understand anything (you do understand something)

"not everyone" = 不是每個人都(也)/不是所有人都(也)/不是誰都(也)

"those people" = 那些人

“哪个人” here means everyone, anyone

Not everyone likes him.

You don't understand everything (there is something that you don't understand)

It is not that you don't understand anything (you do understand something)

the two sentences seem alike, but what they emphasize on are different.

You know many things, but still there are something you don't know.

There are something you don't know, but you already know many things.

Hope my help works.

You all things understand (SOV).

We --- not --- all things (we) not have

all things (we) not have=> EVERY SINGLE thing in this world does NOT belong to us => nothing in this world belongs to us -> we have nothing

not all things (we) not have => not (we have nothing) => we have something

not -- everyone -- likes -- him

什么 what (every what/ every thing)

哪 which (every which/ any)

那些人 = those people
