Hanzi

Recommended Posts

了end;finish;knowclearly;oversee;settle;understand...

着 a move in chess;apply;burn;device;send;touch;trick;

usefeel;wear;whereabouts...

过 across;cross;excessive;over;pass;spend;through...

Is this what you mean or you got confused with the meaning of these characters in sentence?

Xiaoxiajenny, I think Hanzi means the 3 grammatical particles, and not the full words. :D

Hanzi, to put it simply:

1. You use in the sentense to indicate the completeness of an action or a change of state:

他来了吗?(Has he come yet?)

他不学中文了。(He doesn't learn Chinese anymore.)

我吃饭了。(I've eaten.)

2. You use to indicate a continuous state or an on-going action:

外头下着雪呢 (It's snowing outside)

他在沙发上座着呢。(He's sitting on the sofa)

3. You use to talk about experiences (been there, done that, etc):

我看过那个电影。(I've seen that film)

你吃过中国饭没有?(Have you ever tried Chinese food)
