Cao gui was a person of Lu kingdom, who served Zhuang(Marquis Lu) with his bravery

and strength because Zhuang adored them. Cao, as Lu's General, lost three battles

against Qi. Marquis Lu was scared and had to give Sui county to Qi to gain peace, but

still let Cao be the General.

Marquis Qi agreed to sign the treaty at Ke with Marquis Lu. During they met on

the hathpace, Cao rushed on it with a dagger and caught Huan. Qi's guarders dared

not take any action, Huan asked, "What do you want?", Cao said, "Qi is strong while

Lu is weak, Qi oppressed us too excessively. Now, if the wall of Lu's city collapsed,

the bricks would fall down to Qi's land, Mar. Qi, you have to think it over for us."

After Huan promised to return all Lu's land, Cao dropped down the dagger and went

down to his position, kept calm as if nothing happened. Huan, out of rageous, would

take back his words. His Premier, Guan zhong, said, "Please don't. To gain satisfaction

from little profit, would lose the trust from the Marquises and the support from the

people. Just return the land to Lu." So Huan returned the land to Lu. All land lost

by Cao's three battles came back now.

After 167 years, Zhuan-zhu's story happened in Wu kingdom.

No. 2, Zhuan-zhu assassinated Liao, King of Wu

Zhuan-zhu was a person of Tang county in Wu kingdom. Wu zi-xu, had escaped from Chu kingdom

and reached Wu, knew Zhuan-zhu's advantage. Wu zi-xu got an opportunity to meet Liao and

persuaded him to invade Chu to gain huge profit. Prince Guang said, "Wu zi-xu's father and

brother were killed by King of Chu. He wanted Wu kingdom to invade Chu only for his revenge,

not for Wu kingdom." Liao stopped thought of invasion Chu. Wu zixu knew that Prince Guang

would kill Liao, said to his friends, "His goal is within the kingdom, it's not suitable

to provide him advice about foreign matter." so Wu zi-xu recommended Zhuan-zhu to Guang.

Guang's father was Zhu-pan, former King of Wu. Zhu-pan had three brothers young, Yu-ji,

Yi-mei, Ji-zi-zha. Zhu-pan knew Ji-zi-zha was virtuous and wanted him to be the king,

his solution was that first transfer the position to Yu-ji, and then Yi-mei, finally to

Ji-zi-zha. After his death, his willing was carried until Yi-mei's death. Ji-zi-zha fleed

to avoid being the King, so the officials selected Yi-mei's son, Liao, be the King. Prince

Guang said, "According to the brother-sequence, it should be Ji-zi-zha, now it became the

son-sequence, the King should be me!" So Guang gathered elites secretly for his opportunity.

Guang accepted Zhuan-zhu and treated him quite well. Nine years after Liao be the king,

King of Chu(Wu zi-xu's enemy) died. In the spring, Liao ordered his two brothers, Gai-yu and

Zhu-yong, to surround Chu's Qian county; ordered Vicomte Ji in YanLing county to monitor Jin

Kingdom's action. Chu kingdom sent their soldiers to truncate Wu soldiers' way back home.

Guang said to Zhuan-zhu, "We can't let this opportunity go. I should be the true King, even

if Ji-zi-zha came back, he wouldn't say no." Zhuan-zhu said, "Liao could be killed, his

mother is old, his son is little, two brothers are envoloped in Chu. Wu is puzzled outside

by Chu, and has no loyal officials inside. Liao couldn't resist us." Guang knocked head to

Zhuan-zhu, "Your body is my body, I'll take your responsibility after your death."

In Summer, Guang lurked his guards in an empty house and invited Liao to his home for

a drink. Liao's soldiers lined up from the Palace to Guang's home. Those near Liao were

all his direct relatives. After long time drinking, Guang pretended feet pain(In ancient china,

the sitting style is kneet-sit on the ground) and went to that empty house, let Zhuan-zhu

hide a dagger in a fish body and provided it to King Liao(Liao likes fish very much). Before

Liao, Zhuan-zhu opened the fish body and punctured Liao to death. Liao's guards killed Zhuan-zhu.

Guang's secret soldiers rushed out and killed all the guards of Liao. Guang became King of Wu

finally, who is the famouse He-lu. He-lu granted Zhuan-zhu's son to be a High rank officials.

70 years later, Yu-rang's story happend in Jin Kingdom.

No. 3, Yu-rang failed assassinating Xiang, Vicomte Zhao

Yu-rang was a person of Kingdom Jin. He once served for nobleman Fan and Zhongxing, but not

famous at that time. He left them to serve for Comte Zhi. Zhi treated him well with respect.

Comte Zhi(Marquis Jin was puppet) tried to conquer Vicomte Zhao with Vicomte Han and Wei, but failed because the

three Vicomtes allied under Zhao's last city's wall(need a story to describe, after this war,

Kingdom Jin separated to Zhao, Han, Wei. Ch'in Kingdom's opportunity came, finally it united China).

Zhi's land was partitioned by them and himself was killed. Vicomte Zhao hated Comte Zhi deeply and

made his skull a bowl. Yu-rang fleed to the mountain, sighed, "Aah! Elites die for who know them,

women make up for who like them. Comte Zhi knew me, I must revenge for him to let my soul without regret."

Then he changed his name and pretended to be prisoner to clean the toilet of Zhao's palace.

He always carry a dagger to assassinate Xiang. One day, Xiang went to toilet and heart beated,

let the guarders check the servants. Yu-rang, found with a dagger, said, "Want to revenge for

Comte Zhi." The guarders would kill him, Xiang stopped them and said, "He is a person full of

loyalty to his master. I'll be OK just by carefulness. Comte Zhi died without descendant, so one

of his subordinate revenged for him, he is a respectable man." So let Yu-rang go.

After lived for a while, Yu-rang lacquered himself to grow festers on his body, swallowed carbon

to change his voice. When begged in the market, even his wife couldn't recognized him. One of his

friends recognized him(quite strange) and said, "Are you Yu-rang?", after gain yes answer, his

friend cried and said, "Your intelligence could attract Xiang easily, after gain the trust from

him, you would have many opportunities to kill him, isn't it easy? Why you hurt your body to this degree

to revenge him, isn't it difficult?" Yu-rang said, "After serving Xiang, then try to kill him. This is

so-called 'Serve his master with two intentions'. My goal is quite difficult, the reason why I choose

the more difficult way is to let those who betray their masters feel shame."

Some times later, Xiang went out from the palace. Yu-rang lurked under the bridge. When Xiang was on

the bridge, his horse exclaimed(the horse must be expensive). Xiang said, "It must be Yu-rang." After

the guarders queried him, it's him. Xiang then listed his faults, "Hadn't you served Fan and Zhongxing?

Comte Zhi extinguished them, you didn't revenge for them but served their enemy. Zhi has been dead, why

you revenge for him endlessly?" Yu-rang said, "When I served for Fan and Zhongxing, they treated me just

ordinarily, so I treated them back. Comte Zhi treated me as National scholar, so I treated him in National

scholar's way." Xiang sighed and cried, "Yaah, Yu! What you've done for Comte Zhi could have implemented

your name. While I have released you one time, It's enough for my name too. This time you had to depend

on yourself, I won't relase you again." The guarders surrounded Yu-rang. Yu-rang said, "I have heard that

clement master won't hide the other's virtue, the loyal subordinates have the responsibility to die for their

names. You have absolved me once, all the people praise your mercy. Today's issue, I would accept the death

punishment, but please borrow your clothes to let me puncture it, so I could fulfil the revenge without

regret. I daren't hope you agree, but I would have a try!" Xiang greatly appreciated him, and borrowed

the clothes to Yu-rang. Yu pulled his sword and jumped to puncture it, said, "I have requited Comte Zhi's

kindness!" Yu-rang suicided himself. On hearing his death, the people of Zhao cried for him.

40 years later, Nie zheng's story happened in Han Kingdom.

No. 4, Nie zheng assassinated Premier Xia-lei of Han Kingdom

Nie zheng was a person of Lane Shen Jing, County Zhi. To avoid revenge after killing a person, He went to

Qi kingdom with his mother and sister, lived there as a butcher.

Some times later, Yan zhong-zi, a person from Puyang city, weaved hatry with Premier Xia-lei during serving

for Marquis Han. Yan fleed away in order not be killed by Premier, he wandered around to find someone help

him revenge Xia-lei. In Qi kingdom, someone told him about Nie's bravery and his story. Yan visited him for

many times, and even prepared a banquet, gesundheit-ed to Nie's mother, Yan provided Nie with 100-yi gold.

Nie was quite confused and refused him, said, "It's lucky that my old mother still lives, although not rich,

as a butcher, I could provide for my family. Dare not accept such valuable gift." Yan said, "I have a personal

enemy, and loafed around many kingdoms; In Qi, I heard your name, so I provider that gift to improve your

mother's living. Daren't hope more except that your friendship." Nie zheng said, "The reason why I lower down

my ambition and insult my body to be butcher, is to pay back my mother peacefully; My mother is alive, zheng

daren't make death-vow-friends with other people." Yan insisted sending the gift and Nie still refused. Yan

had to leave but with full etiquette.

Long time later, Nie's mother died. After fulfiled his filial piety, Nie said, "Oops, Zheng is a man living

in the market, waving the knife, being a butcher. While Yan zhong-zi is an official of Marquis, and come here

to make friend with me. What I gave him is too little, and he gave me 100 gold as gift for my mother, although

I didn't accept it, I know he treated me as inordinary man. A virtuous man wanted to hobnob with me, a poor

rub, for his revenge, Should I keep silence and treat it easy? He invited me last time, I refused him for my

mother's alive, now she's dead, It's time to reward him." So Nie went to Puyang to meet Yan zhong-zi, said, "

Last time I refuse you 'cause my mother's alive, now she has passed away, please tell me who you want to

revenge on?" Yan said, "My enemy is Xia-lei, Premier of Han, who is uncle of King of Han. There're many members

and soldiers of his family. I want to find someone assassinate him, but can't success. Now you want to help me,

how many assistants do you want?" Nie zheng said, "Han is quite near to Wei(Puyang lies in Wei kingdom). Premier

is the relative of King, if we want to kill him, the more people, the more accidents. If they knew our goal, that

means you'd be the enemy of Han kingdom, it's too dangerous." So Nie left alone.

Nie went to Han's capital city with a sword. One day he found Xia-lei was sitting on the hall, although there're

many guards around, Nie rushed into and killed Xia-lei quickly. The guarders were in a mess, Nie killed many of

them while he lacerated his face, pulled out his eyes, opened his stomach, gut flowed out and then died.

His corpse was showed in the market, thoese who knew him would gain many money. No one knew it, and the prize grew up

to 1000-yi gold. Still no one knew.

Nie's sister Nie ying heard some one assassinated Premier of Han while no one knew the dead assassin whose corpse

showed in the market. She cried and said, "He must be my brother." When reached the capital, Nie ying found it was

really his brother and cried on the corpse mournfully, said, "This is Nie zheng, Lane Shenjing of County Zhi." The

walkers said, "This guy killed our Premier, and the prize is up to 1000, haven't you heard that? How dare you come

here to recognize him?" Nie ying answered, "I've heard that. Why my brother insulted himeself to be a butcher long

time is his mother's alive and his sister's unmarried. After his mother has passed away and his sister has married,

Yan zhong-zi selected him from the dirty place and made friends with him. What a honor! Elites should die for who

know him. Because I'm still alive, so Nie zheng did so in order not embroil me. How could I scare the death, and

hide my brother's name!" The walkers in the market were all shocked. Nie ying shouted three "My sky" aloud and

died of deep mourning.

Three-Jin, Chu, Qi, Wei(卫)'s people knew this information, said, "Not only Nie zheng, but his sister were spirited. If Nie

zheng had known his sister was such spirited girl, not afraid of died in the field, walked long distance to spread

his name and died together with him in the Han's market, he must would be hesitated to do such thing for Yan zhong-zi.

Yan zhong-zi is an intelligent guy."

After 220 years or so, Jing ke's story happened in Chin Kingdom.

Also, Wei should have been gone by the time in story 4 because it is generally accepted that the Warring States period started when Jin was divided.

Sorry for my unclear translation. The Jin in story 4 means Han, Zhao

and Wei(魏), which were always called three-Jin. The Wei of 'Jin, Chu,

Wei" in story 4 should be 卫(small Wei), this country was destroyed by

a 'barbarian' tribe, and Marquis of Qi gave a county to the king to live

on and it became a vassal kingdom of Wei(魏) later. It lasted until 209BC

Jing ke was a person of Wei(Small one) kingdom. His ancestors were from Qi kingdom, they escaped to

Wei after the incident of Premier Qing feng, to avoid revenge, they changed surname to Jing. Jing ke went

to Yan kingdom later.

Jing ke liked reading and fencing. He ever tried his opportunity from King of Wei(S) with his fencing,

the King didn't accept him. Later, Chin invaded Wei(Bigger one), set a new County Dong, moved King of

Wei(S) and his families to Ye wang. (The small Wei kingdom could be treated an International beggar.)

Jing ke ever travelled to Yu ci, and discussed fencing with Gai nie. Gai nie stared at him angrily.

Jing ke left his house, someone recommended Gai to recall Jing ke. Gai nie said, "When discussing, he

made a mistake, I stared at him; You try calling him back, I think he won't be back again." When he

went to Jing ke's room, Jing ke has left Yu ci. Gai nie said, "He must would leave, I stared at him,

When Jing ke travelled in Han dan city, Lu gou-jian practiced fencing with Jing, they quarrelled for

lands, even Yan could feel the threaten. King and officials of Yan were scared. Prince Dan worried

and consulted to his teacher Ju wu. Ju wu answered, "Chin's land were so big, it threatened Han,

Wei and Zhao. There're ruggedization of Gan-quan and Gu-kou cols in the north, fertility of Jing,

Wei deltas and Ba, Han-zhong counties in the south, Mountains in Long, Shu in the right, Han-gu,

Xiao-shan cols in the left. The number of people is huge and the soldiers are skilled, weapons and

armor are enough. If they would invade, then there's no safe place in the south of the Great wall

Prince wanted to consult him about the national affair. Tian agreed and went to meet the Prince.

The Prince went to the door to meet Tian, directed him while walked reversely, kneel down to wipe

off the seat. After Tian guang seated down, there's no others, Prince left his seat and asked, "Yan

wouldn't co-exist together with Chin, do you have some tactics?" Tian guang said, "I've heard the

pegasus could run thousand miles per day when it's strong. When it's old, the dobbin could win him.

I'm old and couldn't provide you advices about national affairs, but I'd introduced Jing ke to you."

Prince required Tian be the intermediator. Tian guang agreed and would leave. Prince came along with

him to the door, and required him to keep the secret again. Tian guang saluted laughly and said, "ok."

Tian walked stoopingly to Jing ke's home, said to him, "you and me are friends which is known in Yan.

Prince only knew my former fame, not know my being good-for-nothing now. He asked my advice about

national affair. I don't treat you as the others, so recommended you to him. Please go to Prince's

palace." Jing ke consented. Tian guang said, "I've heard, the old man's behavior shouldn't be suspected.

The reason Prince required me to keep the secret again is that he didn't trust me thoroughly. Make the

others suspect, is not what a knight-errant's behavior." Tian wanted his suicide to inspirit Jing ke,

said, "Please go to see the Prince immediately, and said that Tian has been dead to prove that Tian

wouldn't spread the secret." After that, Tian jugulated himself.

Jing ke went to see the Prince and noticed Tian guang's death and words to him. The Prince bent

down twice, kneeled down and crawled with tears down, said, "What I urged again Tian guang, was to

make sure the tactic success. Tian used his death to show he would keep the secret, which is not

what I want!" After Jing ke seated, Prince left his seat and kotowed, "Mr. Tian didn't know my

stupidity and gave me a chance to consult to you. This proves that the Heaven conmiserated with

Yan and won't desert Yan. Nowaday Chin's goal for profit couldn't be satisfied unless they

conquered all the land and the kings. Chin has enjailed King of Han, occupied all their land,

and invaded Chu to the south, Zhao to the north; Wang jian's soldiers residented near Zhang and

Ye city, Li xin moved towards Tai yuan and Yun zhong city. Zhao couldn't resist them and must be

conquered soon, if so, the disaster would come near Yan. Yan's weak and has suffered in many wars,

even has no idea to resist Chin. The marquises were all scared and daren't ally against Chin. I have

an silly idea that hire a brave warrior to Chin as an emissary, allured Chin; Chin is greedy, it must

would success. If he could hijacked King of Chin, let him return all the land of the Marquises just

as Cao gui did to King of Qi, it's the best result; if failed, then kill him. The Generals of Chin

were outside with many soldiers and there's crisis inside the kingdom, the new king and the generals

must suspect each others, if the other Marquises ally, Chin must could be defeated. This is my best

wish, but don't know who could be trusted with. Jing ke thinked long time and said, "It's significant

matter, I'm stupid and couldn't fulfil this task." Prince kotowed and insisted untill Jing agreed.

Jing ke was honored as high official, and awarded big house. The Prince visited him everyday with

delicious food and jewellery, even provided vehicles and beauties as he wished to please him.

There's no evidence for Jing ke to take action. Wang jian, General of Chin, defeated Zhao and

caught King of Zhao alive, Zhao kingdom disappeared. Chin's army moved north to Yan's border.

Prince Dan was scared and said to Jing ke, "Chin's soldiers could cross Yi river even in one day,

it's not possible even if I'm willing to serve you long time." Jing ke said, "I'll take action

without your words. Without valuable gift, King of Chin won't be close to me. General Fan, King

of Chin offered a reward of 1000-jin gold, and taxes of 10 thousands families. If we provide the

head of Fan and the map of fertile Kang du county, King of Chin must would be like to meet me,

that would be my opportunity." Prince said, "General Fan went to me for shelter, I woudn't make

the old man disappointed for my own thing, please try another way."

Jing ke knew the Prince wouldn't endure it, so he met Fan wu-qi in private and said, "What Chin

treated you could be said as 'extreme', your parents and whole clans were killed. Your head deserved

1-thousand-jin's gold and taxes of 10 thousand families. How do you think of it?" Wu-qi looked up

and signed with tears down, "When I think of it, the pain is deep into my medulla, but I have not

good tactic." Jing ke said, "Now I have a sentence to eliminate the disaster of Yan and revenge for

you, would you(want to listen)?" Wu-qi closed to him and said, "What's it?" Jing ke said, "I want to

beg your head to give it to King of Chin, he must be glad to interview with me, then I could grasp

his sleeve with my left hand, puncture his breast with right hand. Are you willing?" Fan wu-qi

Chin wu-yang in Yan, who ever killed person at 13 years old. People dared not look against at his

eye-sight. He was appointed an assistant of Jing ke. Jing ke thought that he needed another friend's

help and waited for him; He lived in a far place and Jing ke prepared the equippment for him. The

Prince waited long and doubted that Jing ke had changed his idea, so he hastened him, "There's no enough

time left, have you changed your mind? If that, I would let Chin wu-yang go first." Jing ke angried

and rapped, "No need your urgence. Who only prepare for how to begin but not how to win, is just a

stupid guy! I'm not afraid of going to unpredictable Chin kingdom only with a dagger, the reason I stayed

who was chamberlain of Crowned Prince. Meng jia told King of Chin, "King of Yan really overawed by your

Majesty and daren't resist our army. He is willing to submit to us and only take the Marquis title and
