Hi all,

I am new to this forum and need help in viewing chinese characters on my PC. Eventhough I have installed most of the fonts to support chinese simple, traditional, taiwanese, etc PC does not recognize the chinese characters and displays texts like this "µÇ¼ÃÜÂë", "µÇ ¼".

Can somebody please help me in configuring my PC to display the chinese texts.

I googled & believe that this is forum having the people to help me out.

Please help me.

Thanks.

You probably have fonts necessary. I recommend changing the encoding until you see something that makes sense. From looking at the short examples you've provided, it seems like GB 2312 is most likely.

It is GB2312. The garbled text translates to {登录密码", "登 录}.

Which OS, which software, and which default language?

Sometimes, the OS settings are right, but some Chinese web pages claim to be Unicode when they are really GB (or, more commonly, Big5 for Taiwanese sites). Firefox has a forced character encoding that can fix this for an individual page. But if you are seeing this on every page, the problem may be elsewhere.
