how to say - I write?

dzao everyone! my query is this: I know how to say I drive a bus or I'm a carpenter, but unfortunately it does not apply to me. if someone asks me what do I do, how do I tell them that I enjoy writing? for instance, my favorite on-line dictionary http://chinese.primezero.com/pzcdz/u.html

gives

詩人 bard; poet; [ shī rén ] which is very well as far as that goes. but would: thanks for asking, wo-shi-ren make sense to the interlocutor?

colloquially speaking, what would be the best reply?

any help towards my stumbling efforts will be profoundly appreciated.

thank you Skylee, you've done a very good job there! I like this one best: 我是寫詩的. it has a self-assertive sound. like: what are you going to do about it?

the phonetics of 歡 in line one, please? funny, it's coming up in the simplified version, by the looks of it. 喜歡 - shi hwan would that be anywhere near??

thanks again.
