Simplification of 聶, and others alike.

Was the simplification of

聶 → 聂

done because the character 又 means "again"? (In the old days, you'd have to write 耳 "again and again".) Are there any other characters that you can think of that (at least potentially) poke fun at the simplification process like this?

BlackAnger - I'm aware of "triple characters" of those nature, but I'm rater interested in the choice in simplification, not structure of character.

skylee - Thanks for pointing out 轟→轰. I see it's another instance of this same simplification.

Just an abbreviation. Many different components that were deemed too 麻煩 to write, were all simplified to 又. E.g. 難 -> 难, 鳳 -> 凤, 歡 ->欢, 僅 -> 仅. There's no real logic.
