Their class teacher is a brand new teacher and seems to be struggling herself. The class is the lowest ability of the three that I have. Part of the problem is likely one of understanding me. My Chinese is pretty good in common conversation but I have not practiced/learned the idiosyncrasies of classroom language. More than half of the class is well behind the level of the text they are using but were just passed forward to the next year with a B or C grade, even though there is no mastery of the material. I am going to ask to observe other teachers teaching to see if I can get some ideas. I have no teacher in the class with me. Do you have any suggestions?
