But note that 官窯 guan1 yao2 also refers specifically to a particular range of celadons from the N. Song onward, famed for their thick glazes, ranging from greenish gray to seafoam green, and creamy, jadelike or crackled in appearance, and the name evokes this specific range of celadons much more than it does imperial wares in general.
