My contract and residence permit is up on June 30th. I am hoping to go to KUST in Kunming to study Chinese for one or two years. I need to know if it is possible to change my visa to a student visa directly or if I need to change to a tourist visa first. Can I do this in Hebei or do I need to do this down in Kunming? My problem is the semester doesn't start til September 2nd so I have two months between finishing my contract and starting study. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
