Converting pinyin with diacriticals to just straight text

I have 8 lists of student names in Chinese and I need to create an account for each one.  The software that I am using will not recognize Hanzi, so I will need to use pinyin.  I can convert the Hanzi to pinyin but still the software does not accept the tonal markings.  I need some way - besides retyping the whole list of 400 names - just get their Chinese names in the Romans alphabet without the tonal markings.  Is this possible?

paste diacritic pinyin in the right, get tone numbers in the left: then any word processor should allow you to strip away the numbers (search & replace with nothing).

Do account names need to be unique? You may well end up with duplicates doing this.
