PaulaPanama Posted December 14, 2013 at 04:35 PM Report Share Posted December 14, 2013 at 04:35 PM Does anyone have a favourite font for writing Pinyin? Ideally, the letters with tone marks should not appear as a different size to the other letters. I would be interested to hear which font you prefer to use for Pinyin? imron Posted December 15, 2013 at 07:12 AM Report Share Posted December 15, 2013 at 07:12 AM I'm not sure about public domain ones, but Arial Unicode MS is pretty good for pinyin.

Taibei Posted December 15, 2013 at 07:44 AM Report Share Posted December 15, 2013 at 07:44 AM A lot of this depends on context, the same as with the font face used for writing anything. Take a look at these: http://pinyin.info/news/category/misc/pinyin-font-misc/ There are also some fonts commonly found that should *not* be used for Pinyin, even though they may appear to have all of the letters and diacritcs: http://pinyin.info/news/2012/some-fonts-not-to-use-for-pinyin/
imron Posted December 15, 2013 at 09:09 AM Report Share Posted December 15, 2013 at 09:09 AM I see pinyin.info has had a facelift. Unfortunately they seem to be doing something funky with their encodings because there are loads of ??'s all throughout the new posts.
