Jim Posted April 5, 2005 at 03:42 PM Report Share Posted April 5, 2005 at 03:42 PM Looks like phrases from a description of a developed society, community or organisation or a comparison with somewhere less developed. here's my effort though obviously more context would help: 信息发达 = developed [dissemination of] information 生活设施完善 = the full necessary infrastructure for living [i.e. has everything that a community would need for a rich life in terms of facilities] 人情淡薄 = shallow [or weak] human feelings. if this is about, say, a developed urban community it would be saying that people are more estranged from one another. 信息闭塞 = restricted [or blocked] [dissemination of] information.
