Has anyone out there gone to China and studied Chinese on their own without enrolling in a language school or University? You would definitely run into a few logistical problems doing it this way (namely visa issues and finding a good private instructor) but it could be cheaper than taking courses and better for your Chinese. Also, I'm sick of group classes and I feel if I want to really improve my Chinese one on one or two on one is the only way to go.
