New Members JulietCherry Posted April 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM New Members Report Share Posted April 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM Hi all I own an old Chinese water pipe that was brought back from Hong Kong by my great-grandfather. It has an inscription on the lid that I cannot decipher. I am hoping it is something personal, although it would be interesting even if it were a maker's mark or something like that. Would anyone on here be able to read it, or know where I could ask for advice? Many thanks Juliet
ABCsOfChinese Posted April 13, 2014 at 12:00 PM Report Share Posted April 13, 2014 at 12:00 PM You read the characters from top to bottom, starting at the right side and reading to the left. I don't understand the first part, but the last 4 characters mean "the real thing" or "the read McCoy".
