housecat26 Posted April 23, 2014 at 01:44 PM Report Share Posted April 23, 2014 at 01:44 PM I've been emailing employers looking at possible openings and it seems quite promising, just to make it a quicker process from applying for a position to actually being able to start what do I have to keep in mind and how do I apply for a work visa in China from the UK? I'm guessing it's not too complex as I have gotten a visa for China before but I don't want to be forgetting anything.

zhouhaochen Posted May 6, 2014 at 09:21 AM Report Share Posted May 6, 2014 at 09:21 AM keep also in mind that regulations change and how things are handled at different offices depends on a number of (often unkown) factors. Your company should have experience in doing this or get an agent that does. To do it yourself without guidance of someone who has done this recently is possible, but chances of problems are significantly higher. hedwards Posted May 7, 2014 at 04:02 AM Report Share Posted May 7, 2014 at 04:02 AM Also keep in mind that once you have the documents that you're required to submit that you have to appear in person to give them to the embassy for processing. If you can't do that, then you'll have to go through an agent that can present the documents on your behalf. I would recommend the one I used, but they're in America and I don't think they have a presence in the UK. Ideally, you probably want somebody that is located in the same building or close by in case something comes up that they need to deal with. roddy Posted May 7, 2014 at 01:59 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2014 at 01:59 PM Actually the Chinese embassy in London does not accept in-person applications, and hasn't for quite some years. Everything has to go through a designated agency.
hedwards Posted May 7, 2014 at 02:12 PM Report Share Posted May 7, 2014 at 02:12 PM Roddy that's interesting. I'm kind of curious why that's different over there. I didn't have the option of delivering it in person myself as the nearest embassy is probably 20 hours by car from here.
