Ideas for getting an academic study of a Chinese learning app?

I'm wrapping up a mobile app for one aspect of learning Chinese. I'm not quite ready to talk about it (still need a month or two to finish it).

I think it's different enough that it might improve one aspect of Chinese education. This got me thinking about the possibility of academic studies using the app to see if it really does improve learning.

Basically I'm looking for advice on the best way to approach academics about this, what I need to bring to the table, etc. I was thinking about offering an outline of a possible study and technical support.
