New Members Searose Posted October 6, 2014 at 07:43 PM New Members Report Share Posted October 6, 2014 at 07:43 PM In the show the character, Zaheer, picks up the locket in the picture attachment and reads it out as: “Let go of your earthly tether, enter the void, empty and become wind.” For more context behind this, the inscription in the locket are the words of the character, Guru Laghima, who in the show was a monk who unlocked the secret to weightlessness and was able to fly. The quote seems to have a strong Buddhist inspiration. I was wondering how closely the characters relate to the provided English translation. Pinyin for all the characters would also be greatly appreciated!
sammiekong Posted October 7, 2014 at 05:42 PM Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 at 05:42 PM Pinyin: 出尘世羁绊 chu1 chen2 shi4 ji1 ban4 入虚无如风 ru4 xu1 wu2 ru2 feng1 Note that ancient literary should be read from up to down and then from right to left. The English translation is very close. I would translate like this: Let go of the earthly tether, (and) enter the void as wind.
davidbrookesuk Posted October 17, 2014 at 05:07 PM Report Share Posted October 17, 2014 at 05:07 PM Love that show! I'm surprised they used Chinese though, it was always clearly inspired by China and Tibet but I assumed all the written text would be a fictional language. Just another cool little detail they put into the show though!
