AllOtherNamesWereTaken Posted October 9, 2014 at 12:21 PM Report Share Posted October 9, 2014 at 12:21 PM So I found another coin while walking and this one looks a lot older than the other one. It has some build up on it but some of the characters are still visible. I was hoping someone here could help me with a translation to let me know the history of this coin such as when it was made? Thanks

AllOtherNamesWereTaken Posted October 10, 2014 at 06:16 AM Author Report Share Posted October 10, 2014 at 06:16 AM Thanks for the translation. I did some research with the translation you gave me, and I found that it's from the Northern Song Dynasty. Is that right? Cause if it is, that means the coin is at least 800 years old. Could the coin actually be 800 years old or more?

imron Posted October 10, 2014 at 07:29 AM Report Share Posted October 10, 2014 at 07:29 AM Or it could be a replica coin that is only a few years old. They make these coins by the truckload in China for souvenir purposes.
Jay Sin Posted October 17, 2014 at 04:04 PM Report Share Posted October 17, 2014 at 04:04 PM Personally,i think its not round and new enough to be a replica coin, maybe it is a real ancient coin.
