I did work on them in film school, and showed some friends of mine(who aren't even particularly interested in China in general) The East is Red the other day just for kicks. They actually really liked it. Well, rather, they were fascinated in an odd way. Those of you who haven't seen any of these yet really should check them out -- after two hours of patriotic song and dance routines you'll be ready for revolution.
