We are looking for the simplist way to use voice/data in Shanghai for a few months. What I came to was to buy a phone here in the US and get it unlocked or have it unlocked in China. Then purchase a monthly or recharge voice/data plan if possible. When I lived in Shanghai before I remember I could just recharge my phone when needed. This was from China Mobile ...
