skylee Posted June 3, 2005 at 01:37 PM Report Share Posted June 3, 2005 at 01:37 PM I've heard that Hong Kong is the only Chinese city without a road/street that is named after Dr Sun. What do you think?

xuezhongwen Posted June 4, 2005 at 04:54 AM Report Share Posted June 4, 2005 at 04:54 AM Beijing doesn't have one either. Exactly. Just about to say it, there might be a Zhongshan Park, but that's about it. Not like in the US, every city has a 'market st', or 'central ave'... liuzhou Posted June 4, 2005 at 03:45 PM Report Share Posted June 4, 2005 at 03:45 PM Here is an interesting explanation (in Chinese) as to why Beijing lacks certain streets (including ZhongShan Lu).
andycmda Posted June 16, 2005 at 05:04 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2005 at 05:04 PM Well, Sun ZhongShan is a southerner and a Cantonese so many southern Chinese cities should have the streets named after him. I was from the city of Wuhan where there is a street and a park named after him, where the revolution took place in 1911 and republic of China was then founded in NanJing.
