For any people who have time and are interested in China, this an au pair exchange program I am attending right now if anyone is interested. I think that only people whose mother language is English or people who have resided in English speaking country for long time are available to participate. The advantage of this program is that it is free. The program is about 6 months. There is also a short-term program which is about 1 month (time length negotiable with paired family). You can also visit the website of the company. http://www.mjhorizon.com/

Successful Case

Nemo is an optimistic sporty boy whose parents pay more attention on his quality education and mental development. He has been on this international cultural exchange program since he was 4 years old. Now that he turns into 6, he’s already been able to speak English fluently after hosting three exchange students in their family.

Of all three homestay students,Andrew became Nemo’s best friend. They played hokey and basketball together; discussing about science and comics together; even go for fencing and painting lessons together. Through all the communication, Nemo improved English in every aspect. He’s more than capable to express his feelings or tell stories in English now.

To help Andrew blend into Chinese lifestyle, the family organized dozens of activities such as sightseeing, “pizza hunting”, traveling tours and so on. Together, they have traveled the highways and byways of Beijing city. Andrew started to fell in love with Chinese ancient buildings, especially the forbidden city. He learned lots of Chinese traditions as well, like eating dumplings on New Year’s Eve for a good fortune of the coming year. Nemo’s mom is good at Peking Opera, and Nemo’s dad likes stamp collecting. During the homestay with this family, Andrew grew a huge interest in Chinese culture and history.

When Andrew headed back to college, he and Nemo made a deal, that one day in the future, Nemo will fly to America and visit Andrew’s family. The two boys from different countries has developed great friendship in MJ Horizon program!
