sindy123 Posted April 11, 2017 at 11:03 PM Report Share Posted April 11, 2017 at 11:03 PM Hello, I am awarded by the Chinese government to do a language programme in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. School starts in the beginning of September, however I have to defend my thesis during that time. Would it be problematic if I skipped a week (or even two weeks) classes? Thanks in advance
grawrt Posted April 12, 2017 at 07:16 AM Report Share Posted April 12, 2017 at 07:16 AM You should speak with your school. At my school all scholarship students were required to come on the first even though classes didn't begin until the following week. I think it's because the schools need to get every scholarship student registered (tying their bank account with scholarship money, processing residency permit, arrange dorm rooms, etc.)
