反了他了

What is the meaning of 反了他了, please?

这时候你还管什么面子不面子,真是糊涂啊!这小子,反了他了,我们家心肝宝贝似的宠着,他竟下得了手!

Context: Brother is talking to the sister, who was beaten by her husband and came to her brother's to stay overnight.

I suspect this is a northern idiom (I live in south). It is a curse for the occasion where you are angered by someone who acts out of his character and certainly not in the way you accept. One similar expression I can think of is 不知好歹.

It means "traitor", and it's a type of 空耳. So, "he's a traitor". https://youtu.be/YSZyMXaXkHo?t=186

空耳 is when a Chinese speaker watches a foreign language work, such as the German movie "Downfall" in this case, and it sounds like funny nonsense in Chinese occasionally.

Rewind a bit from the timestamp linked in my first post. There's a 管 sentence in there too before 反了他. Wow follows it so perfectly :clap

Here's another 空耳: https://www.bilibili.com/video/av12953063/?from=search&seid=512567134375078031

Quote

does it also carry the meaning of the original german word (叛徒) in the above context?

Yes. 空耳 is intentional comical misapprehension of foreign language media works.

反了你了 according to my husband, you use this to describe an obedient person who suddenly rebels against you and refuses to obey your orders.

一个平时对你唯命是从的人突然要造反和你对着干,不听你的命令了。
