It was set around the same time as Raise The Red Lantern (or perhaps before). There was a rich guy-perhaps with several wives-and the guy had an adult son. The adult son had some kind of problem.Maybe he could not have kids ,or was a bit simple,or a mute.Not sure. All i know for sure is that the son's wife was dying of TB (("Galloping Consumption" as they call it in the film).and was bedridden. She does get out of bed near the end of the film and says she is going out. Not much to go on, i know ,but that's all i can remember. Anybody know the title?
