Hi

could someone help me to read it? My chinese is too basic to get through, but also the calligraphic style is not my level :((

it would be great at least to have it in "printed characters"

This was a present from a good friend, she bought the scroll in Xiamen

Thanks!

人道酬善

Be good to others (quick translation, this is a common phrase used in works of calligraphy and is fairly culture bound in its contextual meaning)

There are five sentences in total:

天道酬勤、地道酬善、人道酬誠、商道酬信、業道酬精

 勤: diligent

 善: kindness

 誠: honesty

 信(in business): integrity

 精(in industry): profession

These words are from ancient Chinese philosophy.

The main idea is that, a good person should possess these 5 traits.
