smithsgj Posted December 29, 2003 at 03:08 AM Report Share Posted December 29, 2003 at 03:08 AM It's a holiday in Taiwan. Christmas used to be (well, it was nation-founding day or something) but they stopped loads of holidays a couple of years back when they changed to a five-day working week. Does China still work Saturdays?

skylee Posted December 29, 2003 at 03:38 PM Report Share Posted December 29, 2003 at 03:38 PM I am. We have, like, 17 public holidays (not counting 54 sundays) a year in HK. But only a few of us work 5-day week.
Josh69 Posted January 18, 2004 at 05:53 AM Report Share Posted January 18, 2004 at 05:53 AM Skylee, I thought a 5.5 day week (inc Sat mornings) was standard in HK... is that the case :?:
skylee Posted January 18, 2004 at 07:39 AM Report Share Posted January 18, 2004 at 07:39 AM Some offices work 5.5-day week. Some (like mine) have an alternate-Saturday-on system (one 5.5-day week followed by one 5-day week). Fewer work 5-day week (most are US companies, as far as I know).
