Guest 北府 Posted December 31, 2003 at 09:47 AM Report Share Posted December 31, 2003 at 09:47 AM 前面两张相片照的是“韩文公祠” 韩文公名韩愈，是千年前的大文豪，中国最伟大的文人之一。 一千年前，他来到我的家乡－－潮州，那时潮州是一个很落后的地方。 几近蛮荒之地，而且河里活动大量鳄鱼，吃了很多人和家畜。 韩愈到来之后，开办学校，把中原的先进文化传播给潮人。 治理鳄鱼，带领人民把鳄鱼赶到海里。 还为潮人做了许许多多的事。虽然只在潮州八个月，却是潮州历史的转折点。 在他离去之后人们把那里的江改名韩江，山改名韩山 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've been to that temple in Chaozhou and enjoyed the view overlooking the Han River from atop the hill. Not too far from this temple is an ancient kiln (Song dynasty) where I obtained some fine samples of classic porcelain.
