Ferno Posted September 18, 2005 at 06:13 AM Report Share Posted September 18, 2005 at 06:13 AM I am assuming the answer is yes but... can you add the question "ma" to the end of a single word (Chinese meaning word, even it has more than 1 syllable) to clarify/question something? without having to add verbs, etc? ie someone says anything about China, ie: "wo3 shi4 zhong1guo2ren2." Can I say "zhong1guo2ren2 ma?" or adding in a seperate "why"... "wo3 yao4 qu4".... (I'm going to go)... can someone ask "zai4 nar2? Zhong1guo2ma?" (where? China?) or "shen2me shi2hou4? xian4zai4ma?" (when? now?) thanks!
trevelyan Posted September 18, 2005 at 06:33 AM Report Share Posted September 18, 2005 at 06:33 AM I don't see a problem with it, although if someone tells you they are "going" somewhere, you should ask "going where" (去哪?) rather than "at where" (在哪). The latter implies they are already there.
