what is the difference between tong2 and he2?

From my understanding, tong2 and he2 both mean together but i guess tong2 can also mean similar such as tong2 nian2ji2 = similar grade

Can I say:

1) laoshi tong xuesheng = laoshi he xuesheng = teachers and students

2) ta shangwu lai tong wo gao bie = ta shangwu lai he wo gaobie

3) wo xiang ni gaobie lai le

etc....

I guess tong2 can be substituted with he2 or gen1?

Also, what is the difference between xiang4 and tong2/he2? can i say:

wo xiang ni = wo tong ni = wo he ni

Can I also say

1) tong nianji = same grade

2) tong gao = same height

3) tong sui = same age...

How do you say age? My dictionary says it is either gao1di4 or gao1du4...

By meaning "and", 同 is substitutable with 和 and 跟. This is not the same when you use 同 as "the same".

As for xiang4, I can't even understand which xiang4 it should be. As far as I can see there's no word pronounced as xiang4 that has a meaning of "and". Do you mean 像? This word mean "like"(the preposition, meaning "having similarity with ..." or acting as "for example".).

Age is 岁 or 年龄, depending on the context.

As for 高地 or 高度... Which dictionary are you using? I bet the original English word should be "height", but I think "height" doesn't mean "age" in English either.
