hakkaboy Posted October 18, 2005 at 12:17 AM Report Share Posted October 18, 2005 at 12:17 AM Hello. Beijing Language and Culture University and Peking University both offer PhD programmes for foreigners. Does anyone know anything about those? I see the Beida site mentions that PhD students must complete the requisite number of credits, which makes me thing that this is not a pure research degree, but with a large taught element. Would PhDs from these universities be highly regarded internationally?

Lu Posted October 23, 2005 at 02:32 PM Report Share Posted October 23, 2005 at 02:32 PM A PhD from BLCU would not be regarded that highly within China, let alone internationally. Peking University is the most famous uni in China, so a PhD from there would be more useful.
