Ferno Posted December 22, 2005 at 08:15 PM Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 at 08:15 PM Most sources I've seen use characters almost exclusively but I am concentrating on speaking/listening. thx
stephanhodges Posted December 22, 2005 at 08:55 PM Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 at 08:55 PM Try using either ZDT or Mandarin Tool's DimSum program to read the web pages. DimSum can automatically break the words and convert the entire page to Pinyin, if that's what you want. Or, it can put the pinyin above the hanzi, etc. If the sites are not yet in the links section, consider adding them.

Quest Posted December 23, 2005 at 06:12 AM Report Share Posted December 23, 2005 at 06:12 AM Ferno, I think learning some characters will help solve most of your puzzles about Chinese. Even as a Chinese, I would have problems working with toneless and characterless Chinese.
