elina Posted December 28, 2005 at 08:47 AM Report Share Posted December 28, 2005 at 08:47 AM Usually when saying “天”,we use "大",for example, 前天或后天的前一天或后一天 [further ahead or behind], 如:大前天;大后天 But when we saying "星期",I prefer to use 下下星期或下下礼拜。

klortho Posted December 29, 2005 at 04:23 PM Author Report Share Posted December 29, 2005 at 04:23 PM I just talked to my tutor again. I guess, after reading the posts, I started to feel less confident that I'd heard her correctly. But, she confirmed that she commonly uses "大下星期" and "大上星期". Her putonghua is very standard. Do you others agree with these usages? If you heard them uttered, would you understand right away what was meant?

Do you others agree with these usages? Does she speak another dialect? Anyways, in Cantonese we say 下个再下个星期。Different regions have different conventions.
