elina Posted January 13, 2006 at 11:55 AM Report Share Posted January 13, 2006 at 11:55 AM Some example sentences may help understanding: http://www.21xc.com/xcrb/list.asp?id=31963 那些后进生,他们的翅膀是沉重的,他们需要我们用爱的力量来帮他们扇动沉重的翅膀。

Posted January 13, 2006 at 03:44 PM Author Report Share Posted January 13, 2006 at 03:44 PM 笨笨德, Are they almost the same? 'to be tarred with the same brush' and 'to tar somebody with the same brush'. I don't think they are. Can it (tar somebody with the same brush) translated as 'ㄧ竿子打翻一船人'? According to the definition of Cambridge International Dictionary of Idioms, it means 'to believe wrongly that someone or something has the same bad qualities as someone or something that is similar.' Can you come up with another chinese equivalents? By the way, where to find a good reference book about english idioms translated to chinese equivalents? Thanks!
