And I don't get why this should be "I cry for you forever gone, I cannot waken yet, " Any pointers? 刘郎已恨蓬山远， 更隔蓬山一万重。 so I guess the 说话人 is 刘郎? but what is the 恨 doing there? my favorite poem, by the way, is still 山石 by 韩愈。 I love this, and thanks for all your help! The former is right.It means I dreamed of our parting and it made no sense of crying. so I guess the 说话人 is 刘郎? but what is the 恨 doing there? You are right here. This poet wrote that on behalf of 刘郎. Does my explanation make it clear? By the way,I think the translation is not proper. 梦为远别啼难唤---I have explaned this above. 书被催成墨未浓----I hrried into a letter.But it was fount to be written in a pale Chinese ink. skylee Posted April 18, 2006 at 10:34 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2006 at 10:34 AM You may wish to take a look at this analysis, which is obviously what the writer had learnt from Chinese class - 來是空言去絕蹤:來的時候沒有任何一句言語,去了之後完全失去蹤跡.月斜樓上五更鐘:這句沒有特殊涵義,只是說作者為了思念,到了凌晨五更還不睡. 夢為遠別啼難喚:在夢中要遠別,但卻因為傷心哭泣,而無法呼喚出聲. 書被催成墨未濃:夢醒了,情感在心中催促醞釀成書信,想趕快寫出來,但是墨還沒磨好. 蠟照半籠金翡翠，麝熏微度繡芙蓉:這兩句要一起解釋.屬於意識流的風格,"半籠"和"微度"意指燈光只籠罩了一半,薰香也只微微度過,兩者都有不完滿之寓意."金翡翠"和"繡芙蓉",代表著過去愛情的絢麗,用來反襯現在的冷清和痛苦. 劉郎已恨蓬山遠:劉郎指漢武帝劉徹,這句是說漢武帝遣人至蓬萊仙島求仙不成而恨之典故. 更隔蓬山一萬重:但是啊,我的恨,卻比漢武帝要多上一萬倍.
