I really love this poem but i don't know it's origin . Who is the author of this so beautiful poem and what is the title ?

不知我者谓我何求 does it mean i don't care who does not understand me.

The following, from http://www.blogcn.com/user20/admiralty/blog/6005671.html seems relevant. My chinese is so poor, though, that I would surely appreciate a translation by someone fluent!

In any case, I hope this helps and that I've not made too big a fool of myself!

Quotations

As student said, the second part is from the book of odes (詩經). For a translation, take a look at item 65 of this website -> http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/chinese/shijing/AnoShih.html

There was the millet with its drooping heads ;

There was the sacrificial millet into blade .

Slowly I moved about ,

In my heart all-agitated .

Those who knew me ,

Said I was sad at heart .

Those who did not know me ,

Said I was seeking for something .

O distant and azure Heaven !

By what man was this [brought about] ?
