我只在乎你 (邓丽君)

Great song indeed. Actually that song helped land me a new friendship on the US East Coast, which I had just moved to recently. During a visit to a computer store in New York last weekend, I was downloading and listening to Chinese and Korean songs on the speakers. There was an Asian guy at a computer next to mine. At first we ignored each other as these songs were playing, which included some of Jacky Cheung's Mandarin songs.

Finally I played a song from Teresa Teng, 我只在乎你. Suddenly the guy turned to me and said, "That's a great song. Teresa Teng.....She has a very sweet and mellow voice....died too young, etc." Then he introduced himself, saying that he is from Beijing, and moved to New York from mainland China in 1990. I introduced myself and said my parents are from Taiwan. We began a conversation that lasted for 40 minutes. Of course we agreed to meet again.

So Teresa Teng is still powerful after death. :D
