CJKOS - Default Display Lang

Harvey

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I just got a PDA in Taiwan and it has CJKOS installed by default.

When I disable CJKOS everything is in English - OK

When I enable CJKOS all of the major menues, etc are changed into Chinese.

Is there anyway I can make it so when CJKOS is enabled, the default is to Japanese?

Any advice appreciated!

I don´t know which version of CJKOS you use. In my CJKOS V 4.61 you do have the

option to switch between Chinese GB, Chinese Big5 , Japanese EUC-JIS and Japanese

SHIFT-JIS. You find it in the first screen : Char Set.... (Enable CJKOS !)

Hi!

I have CJKOS 4.63.

Let me check this out... The thing is, since it switches to Chinese first, I don't know what the heck is going on after I enable CJKOS :-)

I'll stare at the characters and see if I can decipher what is meant to be the Japanese setting.

Hrm. Still can't figure it out.

Hey after enabling your CJKOS, is the interface in English?

Maybe because I bought my Palm in Taiwan, and it came with CJKOS, I have a default "chinese" CJKOS with a Chinese interface. If I get CJKOS from another source, will the default interface be in English?

Thanks!!! That nailed it :-)

Now I can read the menus in CJKOS preferences.

ONE last question.

In the Character set in the main CJKOS tab, I see options for ChineseBIG5 , Chinese GB and Chinese GBK.

Where are the Japanese options?

Also how do I set up to do Japanese input?

In the INPUT tabe under CJKOS prefs I see all kinds of options but, nothing about say, how to do Japanese or Chinese.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks Gato! I'll download the doc and then get back to you guys on the forums if I'm still stuck! I'm on a very slow internet connection now, so it's going to take me a while to download properly :-)
