Glottal stop on null initials before [i]

Does anyone notice a pattern on whether or not some people begin null initials with a glottal stop, especially before ? I hear it a lot on 一, 英, 意.

英於驚切

意於記切

Most here reconstruct the 於 initial, which is the 影 initial, as a glottal stop.

As far as I can tell, I always hear a glottal stop or a smooth ingress before . I cannot recall specifically hearing an initial y-glide for words beginning with pinyin /yi/.
