Kid goes to China ALONE!!!!

well mom, i have raised two kids back in usa. my outlook on life seems much different than yours however. seems that you are projecting your fears of the world onto your kids shoulders. and then you expect others to agree with you that yours is the best attitude for a parent to hold. one poet, Kahil Gibron, said , to paraphrase: 'the most difficult task of the parent is to release the child from the constraints of the past (the parents) and let him fly as an arrow from the bow'. my suggestion to you: after he is here in china for a month or so, you come here to visit him. do not plan to come during mid-february however as air flights are more costly and life on the streets is somewhat muted due to the big annual new year's celebration. once here you may then face your life's fears with a new attitude and see your kid as much more responsible and able than you do now. best wishes ...and i do eat dog meat but am no lover of the chinese govt.
