Ian_Lee Posted September 27, 2004 at 08:23 PM Report Share Posted September 27, 2004 at 08:23 PM Well, my mom used to worship the moon by burning incense and doing all the rituals until 1966. When astronaut Armstrong landed on the moon ibn 1967, she lost all interests in those legendary stuffs. Other than mooncake, you are supposed to eat star fruit and small ube/taro. Lu Posted September 29, 2004 at 01:06 PM Report Share Posted September 29, 2004 at 01:06 PM In Taiwan there is the tradition (since a couple of years) to kaorou. So that's what everybody here is eating, apart from the mooncakes, and that's what I had too: a LOT of kaorou, and mooncakes.

wiz_oz Posted September 29, 2004 at 05:35 PM Report Share Posted September 29, 2004 at 05:35 PM We also use to eat a sort of nut. It is black in colour and shaped like the two horns of a bull. But less and less of it is eaten nowadays. I think it is called ling-kok Another must have is a nice big pomelo. It is a citrus the size of a football (the english version of the game and is soccer to some of you out there). Very sweet All this is besides the mooncake and taro (called yam). This is for Malaysia and Singapore
