Thanks for the clarification. So, in the end, it still boils down to drawing out the gist of the meaning through the overall context. Which could be difficult for texts that has to do with flowery prose, philosophy or ancient martial arts manuals ,etc... like the Dao De Jing. There may be no clear context to interpret certain sentences, so it's up to the reader to draw their own conclusions. Could be fun, or exasperating depending on how one looks at it.
